Cutlery and dishes
Cutlery and dishes for the trail: folding sets, sporks, collapsible cups, kettles and full mess kits for one or two people. The difference from kitchen tableware is simple – these fold down, do not dent when knocked, and weigh little enough that a pack does not notice them.
The range holds Wildo Swedish CAMP-A-BOX sets, M-Tac folding cutlery with a carabiner and Mil-Tec stainless steel kits.
A spork or separate utensils?
A spork – spoon, fork and knife in one – takes up the least room and suits one person on a short trip. Choose separate utensils when you eat from a deep pot or share food with a group.
Plastic or stainless steel?
Plastic is lighter and does not scratch a pot coating, but it will not take an open flame. Steel is heavier, yet it does not break and it handles heat, which suits longer camps better.
