M-Tac Folding Knife Type 14 is a folding knife that the manufacturer classes as part of its EDC (everyday carry) kit. The blade is 9.4 cm long and made of D2 steel.
Blade and handle
D2 steel contains carbon, manganese, silicon, chromium and molybdenum; according to the manufacturer, this combination gives the blade hardness, corrosion resistance and long-lasting sharpness. The handle is made of Flax – a composite of flax fibers impregnated with resin and compressed under high pressure. The manufacturer states that this material is strong, lightweight and wear-resistant.
Lock and clip
The open blade is locked by a plate that is part of the handle. This type of lock is called a Liner Lock. A pocket clip is attached to the inner side of the handle.
