M-Tac Folding Knife Type 17 is a folding knife that the manufacturer classes as part of its EDC (everyday carry) kit. The blade is 8.5 cm long and made of D2 steel.
Blade and handle
D2 steel contains carbon, manganese, silicon, chromium and molybdenum; according to the manufacturer, this combination gives the blade hardness, corrosion resistance and long-lasting sharpness. The handle is made of G10 – a composite of glass fabric impregnated with epoxy resin and compressed at high temperature and pressure.
Lock and clip
The open blade is locked by a plate that is part of the handle. This type of lock is called a Liner Lock. A pocket clip is attached to the inner side of the handle.
