M-Tac Baseplate Map Compass with Ruler & Magnifier

The M-Tac baseplate map compass is a classic navigation tool with a transparent body that lets you read information straight off the map. It includes a ruler for measuring distance on 1:25000 or 1:50000 scale maps and a magnifying lens.

It is a magnetic, liquid-filled compass: the needle sits in a viscous fluid inside a sealed capsule, so it settles quickly — in under 2 seconds. A capsule with a dial and an orienting arrow rotates on a frame with marked lines.

The rectangular baseplate is made from light, clear plastic, making the compass practical for hiking, orienteering and training.
